CLARK

Feb. 20, 3:44 p.m. – At 76 Central Avenue (ShopRite), police arrested Jeffrey Miller, age 50, single, unemployed of 272-300 South 12th Street in Newark for shoplifting merchandise valued at  $273.41.  He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. Thomas Sarnecki was the arresting officer.

Feb. 19, 3:12 p.m. – In the vicinity of Lake Avenue and Hayes Avenue, police arrested Brian Ochoa, age 20, single, unemployed of 301 North Randolphville Road in Piscataway for possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS). He was subsequently released on his own recognizance released pending a court date. Antonio Manata was the arresting officer.

Feb. 17, 1:55 p.m. – In the vicinity of Brant Avenue, police arrested Javier Imbert, age 29, single, employment status unknown of 7 Robert Court, Apt. D-1 in West Orange for DWI and possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS). He was subsequently released pending a court date. Brian Renda was the arresting officer.

Feb. 15, 7:15 p.m. – At the Springfield Police Department, police arrested Anthony Silvio, age 31, single, self-employed of 260 66th Street in Brooklyn for shoplifting from the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located at 1184 Raritan Road. He was subsequently turned over to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department on their warrant. Also arrested was Sanowar Hossain, age 41, married, self-employed of 87-83 146th Street in Jamaica for shoplifting from the Barnes & Noble Bookstore. He was subsequently released on his own recognizance pending a court date. George Marmarou and Brian Renda were the arresting officers.

GARWOOD

Feb. 18, 8 a.m. – A one-month investigation of credit card fraud concluded with the arrest of Johanna Morris, age 34, of 1137 Middlesex Street in Linden. Morris, an employee of the RWJ Care Center in Garwood is alleged to have used several of RWJ's customer credit card account numbers obtained while conducting transactions at work. Morris then used these account numbers to purchase goods for herself. Lieutenant Bruce Underhill states that Garwood's investigation was connected to two investigations involving victims in Westfield. As a result of the joint investigation, it was found that three victims were defrauded out of approximately $1,500. Morris was charged in Garwood with third degree credit card fraud and fourth degree theft by deception. Morris was released pending appearance in Superior Court.

Feb. 18, 9:49 p.m. – Patrolman Joseph Ostrander stopped a silver 2004 Saturn Vue in the vicinity of North Ave. and Lincoln Ave. after observing several motor vehicle infractions. Investigation found the operator, Kevin Weiss, age 51, of 31 Harvard Road in Cranford to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Weiss provided samples of his breath indicating a .20 percent blood alcohol content (BAC) reading. Weiss was issued several summons and released pending appearance in Municipal Court.

Feb. 17, 12:56 a.m. – Sergeant Doug Stoffer arrested the operator of a black Chevy four-door in Municipal Lot #1, fronting the Borough offices, for driving while intoxicated (DWI). Stoffer stepped out of police headquarters and into the parking lot after hearing a car sounding its horn repeatedly. The vehicle was  parked in a handicapped stall and the operator got out and approached Stoffer displaying outward signs of being under the influence. The operator, Kemeyra Jemerson, age 28, of 1939 Senset Place in Scotch Plains supplied samples of her breath indicating a .21 percent blood alcohol content (BAC) reading. Jemerson was issued several summons and released pending appearance in Municipal Court.

Feb. 10, 11:51 p.m. – Pamela Shaw-Richardson, age 46, of 907 Berckman Street in Plainfield was arrested for DWI after her insurance company reported to police that their client had hit a snow bank causing damage to the car. Police responded to 200 South Avenue to find a green 2000 Toyota Camry in a snow bank with a flat tire and extensive body damage. Patrolman Philip Lewis conducted the investigation which found that Shaw-Richardson displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, and she was arrested at the scene. Shaw supplied samples of her breath which indicated a .08 percent blood alcohol content (BAC) reading. Several summons were issued and she was released pending an appearance in Municipal Court.
