Mayor Bonaccorso Says Clark is Ready for Snowstorm, Asks Residents to Park in Driveways

Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso says the town is fully prepped for the impending snowstorm that will hit the region this afternoon into the weekend.

"We are prepared, and I have full confidence in our DPW," Bonaccorso told Patch. "And if we're dealing with more like 12 inches, we'll handle it. We just have to see if there's going to be power outages, trees down, wires down. We've already salted the school areas, and if the rain stops we'll start pre-salting streets."

The mayor is asking that all residents move their cars from streets onto their property so that plows can get through, especially on narrower streets.

Clark Police have also issued a Nixle alert asking the same: "Advisory: to allow the plows to fully clear the Clark streets of all the snow that is expected please park all vehicles in your driveways"

"And stay home," says Bonaccorso, "there's no reason to be out tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. to pick up bagels. We don’t need you out there. It only makes things more dangerous for everyone.

Mayor Bonaccorso also asks that residents not blow snow into streets after they've been plowed.

When it comes to plowing, Bonaccorso says the first pass is always to open main roads for safety first, and then plows will go back and clean up other streets.

The mayor said he will continue to update residents using the town website, his personal Facebook page, Nixle alerts and through Clark-Garwood Patch.
