Cranford Mom Accused of Trying to Kill Children in Clark Car Fire

Narcissa Zuber, 48, has been charged with setting her minivan on fire with her two children inside on the Garden State Parkway.

A Cranford woman has been charged with attempted murder after she set her vehicle containing her two children on fire in Clark, Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park and New Jersey State Superintendent Rick Fuentes said on Tuesday.

Narcissa Zuber, 48, set her minivan on fire on the Garden State Parkway in Clark in late October, according to an investigation by the prosecutor’s office, the Troop E criminal investigation office and the Arson Unit of the New Jersey State Police.

Zuber is additionally charged with aggravated arson and child endangerment, the prosecutor’s office said. She was arrested Friday following her release from the hospital and was transported to Union County Jail where she is being held on $800,000 bail.

The children were rushed to an area hospital following the accident, but have now been released and continue to recover. Their names are being withheld due to age.
