Clark Police Investigate Thefts from Cars on Carolina and Picton Streets

Plus, Westfield youth arrested for possession with intent to distribute.

Clark police activity from April 23 - 30, 2012:

April 25, 8:47 a.m.  – Police took a report of criminal mischief to a motor vehicle, which was parked at a residence at 11 Rose Terrace. The incident is under investigation. Dan Pitts was the investigating officer.

April 27, 2:02 p.m. – In the vicinity of Oak Ridge Road and Raritan Road, police arrested Samuel Ibiyinka-Smith, age 29, single, of 440 Watkins Street, Apt. #4M in Brooklyn for possession of fraudulent credit cards. Ibiyinka-Smith was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail. Christopher Tuccio was the arresting officer.  

April 28, 12:26 p.m. – In the vicinity of 76 Central Avenue, police arrested Edwin Simmons, age 22, single, a student of 303 Windsor Avenue in Westfield for possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) with intent to distribute. Bail was set at $10,000 and Simmons was subsequently released after posting bail. Also arrested was Mice Lawson, age 24, single, unemployed  of 546 Union Street in Linden on an outstanding warrant from Watchung in the amount of $250 for contempt of court. Lawson was subsequently released after posting bail. Antonio Manata was the arresting officer.

April 29, 2:57 a.m. – In the vicinity of Raritan Road and Central Avenue, police arrested Akhil Patel, age 34, married, self-employed of 107 Tussel Lane in Scotch Plains for driving while intoxicated. Patel was subsequently released pending a court date. Brian Renda was the arresting officer.  

April 30, 8:09 a.m. – Police took reports of thefts of items from motor vehicles, which were parked at multiple residences on Carolina Street and Picton Street. The incidents are under investigation. Daniel Pitts was the investigating officer.
