Clark Man Arrested for Alleged Heroin Possession

Police say Norman Sevell, 26, was discovered in a vehicle with the suspected drug.

Cranford Police arrested two local residents Dec. 16 after heroin was allegedly discovered in their vehicle, according to the department.

Patrolman Spencer Durkin stopped Norman Sevell, 26, of Clark and Nicole Parsons, 23, of Rahway in a 2004 black Volkswagen for passenger and driver seatbelt violations on Monday at 7:14 p.m. at Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road. During an investigation, Durkin discovered five paper folds of suspected heroin inside the vehicle, according to Cranford Police.

Parsons was also charged with hindering apprehension for providing a false identity during her arrest, police said.

Both Sevell and Parsons were processed and released pending an appearance in Superior Court.
