'Willy Wonka' to Be Performed at Lincoln School

Performances will take place on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Roald Dahl’s story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in Lincoln School’s production of "Willy Wonka" under the direction of music and theater arts teacher, Armando Gonzalez.

This gender-bending adaptation follows the mysterious candy manufacturer Willy Wonka, played by Emma Knutson, as she stages a contest by hiding five golden tickets in five of her scrumptious candy bars.

Whoever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the children – played by Cheyenne Doggett, Tristan Challis, Brandon Domingues, and Carly Collings – are insufferable brats. The fifth child is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, played by Owen Graham. He takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather, played by Victor DeFilippo. The children must learn to follow Ms. Wonka's rules in the factory – or suffer the consequences.
