Clark Pop Warner Junior Midgets Team to Play in Championship Game Saturday

The Clark Pop Warner Junior Midgets football team heads into the Eastern Region State Championship game against the Dorchester Vikings from Maryland on Saturday. The game will be played at Shebazz High School in Newark at 2 p.m.

The team defeated the Peekskill Titans, the New York champs, 40-0, last Sunday in North Brunswick in the semifinal game. Before that, they beat the Plainfield Cardinals two weeks ago at home, 44-20, to take the New Jersey championship and move into the Eastern Region playoffs.

"All 34 Crusader players played with everything they have and it showed in the end," said League President Mike Bruno after that game. "We know the boys again will give 100 percent in an effort to bring home the Eastern Region Title."
