Clark Kiwanis Annual Spaghetti Dinner

Al MacDougall, president of the Clark Kiwanis Club, has announced the date of the clubs 17th annual spaghetti dinner as Sunday, March 7, to mangia at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clark.

Clark Kiwanis Club is a philanthropic organization that sponsors the Arthur L. Johnson High School Key Club and the Carl H. Kumpf Builders Club. Both preteen and teen clubs teach students the joy of volunteerism and giving back to the community through service and fundraising. Students from these two clubs and their advisers, Sharon Mills, and Elisa Neas, will be on hand to help the students serve spaghetti and meatballs as well as salad and desserts at the dinner that will run from noon to 4 p.m.

For years the Zion Lutheran Church on Raritan Road at Oak Ridge Road has played host to our fundraiser, MacDougall said. The entire community of Clark supports this project with various stores participating in the advertising booklet. For years, the Clark ShopRite has been a sponsor of the event. Last year, the store manager himself, Seth Wertz and Phyllis Cunningham, Community Outreach Liaison, worked in the kitchen plating the spaghetti.

Money raised helps fund children’s charities. Tickets may be purchased at the door with children’s tickets at $5; senior citizens tickets at $7, and adult tickets at $8. Take-out meals are available.
