Help Fly the Clark Pop Warner Cheerleaders to Nationals in Disney

Visit the team's GoFundMe page to donate to help defray the high cost of the trip.

Three cheers for the Clark Pop Warner Midget Cheer team, who are headed to Disney to compete in nationals on Dec. 13. To help parents defray the high cost of the trip, the team has started a GoFundMe online fundraiser and is seeking your help.

"Our girls have worked so hard to get this far, and as you can imagine, a trip for a team of 30 girls will cost thousands," says the donation page. "Any donation big or small, will help these girls on their journey and make their dreams come true. Thank you for your support."

So far, they've collected $2,475 toward their $8,700 goal.

This is the last chance at nationals for 18 of the girls on the team, says team mom Dawn Palmucci whose husband set up the GoFundMe page.

"They’ve been together for a while and out of 30 girls, 18 will be leaving after this year since Pop Warner only goes up to 8th grade," says Palmucci, whose daughter Adriana is on the team. "For 18 of them this is their last chance to make it to nationals and to compete there ever. It’s pretty exciting."

Last year the team also made it to nationals and took home the third place trophy. They are coached by  Denise Hessler, Melissa Purcell, Cassie Marques, Kim Wilson, Toni Miccio and two junior coaches, Jenna Koppel and Danielle Marzano.

Palmucci would like to thank all those who have already donated, including the Clark PBA, Clark UNICO, Bistro 1051 and Dr. Bosonac.
