Steady Stream of Voters in Clark, Garwood

Poll workers in both Clark and Garwood report a steady stream of voters throughout the day and as the day winds down with polls closing at 8 p.m.

In the race for two seats on Garwood council, some voters shared their choice with Patch.

Al Delconte went for write-in candidate Bruce Paterson. "He's been around a while and he is very educated on the issues," said Delconte.

For governor, Delconte chose Christie, calling him a "get it done kind of guy."

Emmit Garner told Patch he was happy to vote for his neighbor, incumbent Jim Mathieu (R), for council.

"He's an attorney, he's very well-qualified and aware," Garner told Patch. "He comes to logical conclusions and he questions, what's wrong with that?"

Several voters mentioned the public question about raising the minimum wage to be important to them.

"I think lower skilled workers make way too little money and it's a shame," said Garwood resident Frank Tortorici.

For the governor's race,  Tortorici said his vote was "not for Christie." "I think he's a bully," he said.

Garwood Council President Sara Todisco and her boyfriend Eddie Giuliano chatted with voters outside borough hall and handed out a card with contact info for the Garwood Democrats currently on council.
