The district Assembly race was very close.

Democrats and incumbents Sen. Nick Scutari, Assemblywoman Linda Stender, and Assemblyman Jerry Green have pulled a full sweep in District 22.

The district covers Clark, Linden, Winfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Plainfield, Dunellen, Green Brook, North Plainfield.

Official results are still being tabulated, but it appears that Scutari received 23,652 votes (59 percent), while challenger Robert Sherr received only 16,206 (41 percent).

On the other hand, Stender and Green's race was so close, it was one of the last races to be called on NJ.com. Stender's 22,102 votes (28 percent) and Green's 22,129 votes (28 percent) narrowly beat Republican challengers John Campbell (17,980 votes: 23 percent) and Jeffrey First (16,203: 21 percent).
