NJ Transit Bus, Rail Service to Operate Tuesday

Trains will run on an 'Enhanced Weekend Schedule.'

Commuters can breath a little easier Tuesday. New Jersey Transit announced on its website that bus service, suspended Sunday due to the blizzard, would resume at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, and that trains, suspended between Newark and New York during Monday evening's rush hour due to a signal failure, would operate on an "Enhanced Weekend Schedule" and include additional trains.

Due to continued severe weather, however, commuters should still plan for delays, NJ Transit warned, particularly on bus routes.

In addition to trains that normally operate on the Enhanced Weekend Schedule, NJ Transit will offer one additional train in each direction on the Raritan Valley Line:

  • One eastbound train that will depart Raritan at 5:43 a.m., stop at all local stops except Garwood, and arrive at Newark at 6:39 a.m.
  • And one westbound train that will depart Newark at 6:13 a.m. , stop at all local stops except Garwood, and arrive at Raritan at 7:06 a.m.
