Clark Little League Parade Opens 2014 Season

It was a beautiful day for a parade in Clark this past week.  With the horns honking and sirens wailing, the boys and girls of Clark Little League and Clark Girls Softball officially kicked off the 2014 seasons.  After the opening ceremonies and music faded it was time to play ball!

In the opening contest Gamers Defeated Plymouth Rock 13-7.  Gamers Nick McCaffery led off the game with a long home run to center field.  Eddie Burke, Billy Sasse and Kyle Briscese led the offense charge.  Joe Bonaccorso excelled in the field.  For Plymouth Rock, 10yr old Thomas Flanagan in his first at bat in the majors launched a two run home run high over the left field fence.  Andrew Fernandez went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and Ben Laucik pitched a solid 3 innings in relief.

Santos Landscaping defeated Cromwell Management 10-4 behind strong pitching by Joe Kaulfers & John Cuccolo.  Tyler Washington clubbed 4 hits and Alex Kuhtik added 3 hits.  Kevin O'Callahan also chipped in with 2 hits and a walk.  Brett DaCosta, Patrick Hartnett, Paul Palmucci  and Nick Sofianakos excelled for Cromwell.

PBA defeated Fire Department 9 – 6.  PBA jumped out to a 6-0 before FD tied it up in the 6th inning.  The end came on a walk off 3 run home run by Peter Pavese.  Christopher Nudo,  Andrew Troczynski and Justin Rafferty led PBA.  For FD Tommy Armstrong pitched 3 strong innings and their offense was led by James Howlett, Joey Sapia and Kyle Sachewicz.

In our 13-14 yr old Junior League,  the Clark Marauders opened with a 13-0 win over Merrill Park. Lorenzo Depaz threw 4 strong innings,  Joey Bencivenga and Jordan Fedak were solid in relief. Tommy Monahan and Logan Guarino each added two hits.
