Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights - Temple Beth O’r/Beth Torah

Celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, at Temple Beth O'r/Beth Torah of Clark with the lighting of their large outdoor menorah on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.  The community will join together in chanting blessings and singing holiday songs, followed by the serving of traditional treats including latkes and sufganiyot (jelly donuts).  Children will receive special gifts of chocolate coins and dreidels.  The entire community is invited to join in the festivities.

The temple continues its holiday celebration with a dinner on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. for both Hanukkah and the Sabbath.  Reservations are required for the dinner and can be made with the temple office at 732-381-8403.

Hanukkah is an eight-day celebration commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem over two thousand years ago.  Each night an additional light of the menorah is kindled, bringing holiness and inspiration amidst the joy of the season.

Temple Beth O’r/Beth Torah is a center for Jewish life that welcomes members of the community to join in worship, study, celebration and tikkun olam.
