"Consistency is what's most important, and people love our thin crust," says Skrelja. "Most of them just have it plain. We don't sell speciality pizzas and do crazy things other places do. It's old-fashioned toppings and quality ingredients."

Skrelja is also active in the community and sponsors Little League teams and other events. "We donate to everyone who asks," says Skrelja.

Regular customer Aldo Tripicchio wasn't surprised that his favorite pizza place is the winner. "It's thin, crusty and with good sauce that's not overwhelming," said Tripicchio.

Chet Melli says he's been to Pompeii every day for the past 16 years. "It has the best crust, best sauce and the best guy making it. Lou and everyone who works here is very friendly."

Congrats, Pompeii! Check back on Monday when we ask you to vote for your favorite cup of coffee in town in the next addition of our "Best Of" series.
