Vintage Radio Play to Be Performed at Garwood Library Tuesday

This rendition of 'Sorry, Wrong Number' will be presented by the cast of Raconteur Radio Co. from Metuchen.

The Garwood Public Library will host a live radio version of “Sorry, Wrong Number,” on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Starting out as a radio play written by Louise Fletcher in the 1940s, and adapted in to a few film versions, the story involves Leona Stevenson who is sick and confined to her bed. One night, while waiting for her husband to return home, she picks up the phone and accidentally overhears a conversation between two men planning a murder. She becomes increasingly frantic as she tries to work out who the victim is so the crime can be prevented.

This rendition of “Sorry, Wrong Number” will be presented by the cast of Raconteur Radio Co. from Metuchen. Raconteur Radio stages theatrical presentations of vintage and original radio plays (and pop culture parodies) for live audiences in a variety of venues throughout the tri-state area: libraries, adult communities, senior centers, community/cultural centers, restaurants, bars, high schools, and grammar schools.
