Get Up Stand Ups Comedy at The Crossroads Tonight

  1. The Crossroads in Garwood is a one-stop-shop tonight for great music, outrageous comedy and delicious food. Come by for the ‘’ comedy show and live music by Whatever's Clever, b.FUNK, Maya's Ruin and Stelladeora. While you listen, enjoy great Cajun and American fare and drink specials.
  2. Sharpen your mind and challenge your sense of strategy today at the weekly meeting of . The Chess Club meets weekly from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the library’s second floor board room. New players are always welcome. No registration is necessary, just stop by and play.
  3. Parents of children with disabilities, Resolve Community Counseling Center, Inc. hosts a coping with the daily challenges of raising a child with any type of disability. This free support group meets at 1830 Front Street in Scotch Plains on Thursday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call 908-322-9180 ext. 20.
  4. The Mayor’s Concert Series in Rahway presents a free outdoor concert by singer-songwriters and popular commercial jingle writers, , who will perform an irresistible amalgam of melodic, sensual pop and folkie grit tonight, all delivered with witty narrative. The concert takes place on the Rahway Train Station Plaza beginning at 7 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket for seating.
  5. Caregivers, meet others who share your burdens and receive the reassurance and knowledge that can be found in a professionally mentored support group. RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital of Union County in Berkeley Heights hosts a monthly today and every third Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. The meetings, facilitated by a licensed social worker, are free of charge for all attendees.
