Eat at the Windsor Diner For a Cause – and Don't Forget Your Umbrella

Five things you need to know today, Wednesday, March 23.

  1. The vernal equinox has passed, but perhaps Mother Nature missed her cue. The forecasted high temperature will reach just 40°F today.  There’s a 90 percent chance of rain, especially toward the evening hours, with a possible snow accumulation of up to an inch. Don’t forget your umbrella as you head out for the day.
  2. The Clark Relay for Life “Racing for a Cure” team hosts a in Clark from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Eat in or take out, mention this fundraiser and a portion of your bill will be donated to the American Cancer Society through the 2011 Relay for Life. As a bonus, Wednesday is Family Night at the Windsor, so while you’re helping raise money for cancer research, your kids can enjoy balloon animals, face painting and other exciting surprises.
  3. The  welcomes anyone age 55-plus to come as a guest to their weekly meeting at the Polish Cultural Foundation located at 177 Broadway in Clark today. Members meet weekly from September through June from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
  4. Two of Clark Recreation’s newest spring youth programs make their debuts this afternoon at the Clark Recreation Center. and programs both begin their six-week series for both kindergarten through second grade and third grade through fifth grade age levels. Students will learn magic tricks and prestidigitation skills in "The Amazing World of Magic," and build and fly three different airplane models in the Aviation course.
  5. Union County College is hosting an unique comedy production by world-renowned artists at 1:00 p.m. at its Roy Smith Theatre. The event, sponsored by UCC’s English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Department, is free and open to the public.
