Donate Blood in Clark Today – Plus, the Education Foundation of Garwood's Appreciation Dinner Tonight

Five things you need to know today, Thursday, April 28.

  1. The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad hosts its monthly today from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Donors may call 1-800-933-BLOOD (2566) to make an appointment.  Walk-ins are also always welcome.
  2. The tonight at the Westwood in Garwood.  EFG will proudly present ‘Teacher of the Year’ and ‘People Making A Difference’ Awards.  There will also be entertainment and gift raffles.  For more information, call 908-789-0331, ext. 1450.
  3. See the classic Broadway musical, “,” tonight at the Union County Performing Arts Center.  The National Touring Production and live orchestra will be in town for only one night.  For more information, contact the UCPAC box office at 732-499-8226.
  4. Feeling lucky? Pick up your tickets today for in Bethlehem, PA this Monday, May 2. The trip, which begins with breakfast at Gran Centurions and includes round trip transportation, will benefit the Gran Centurions Scholarship Fund.  For more information call Marge at 732-381-3686.
  5. Foodies take note, the 2011  cooks up tomorrow evening at the Rahway Recreation Center.  Today is the last day to pick up pre-event priced tickets. More than 80 gourmet eateries, caterers and food vendors from all around our area will be serving up their specialties, plus sampling over 150 wines.
