A special comedy fundraiser event to benefit the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Union County is being held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 beginning at 8:00 pm, doors open at 7:00 pm at Crossroads, 78 North Avenue in Garwood.
The event will feature a celebrity style roast of Comedian Joe Carney from The Dumb Kids in the Back.

Joe Carney has been a member of The Dumb Kids in the Back. His comedy career began at the Jersey Shore over 15 years ago. Since then Joe has performed in numerous clubs and bars such as Stand-up New York on Broadway, the historic Pips in Sheepshead Bay, the Stress Factory in New Brunswick and can be seen regularly at his "home" club, the Crossroads in Garwood.

Joe's desire to broaden his comedy career led him to the NJ School of Dramatic Arts where he found his love for Improv acting and performing. Joe has been cast in the TV Shows TruTv's"All Worked Up" and MTV's "Silent Library" and the film "Opening Fright" by Alan Del Tufo.  His most recent film debut was in Eternal Damn Nation that he and Comedian Rich McDonald featured in and was shown at Cannes and was picked up world-wide for distribution. As a part of the Dumb Kids in the Back (DKITB) which has been performing short-form improv live in the NY/NJ area for years with a style similar to the well-known program Whose Line Is It Anyway, DKITB utilize their quick-witted comedic skills to create an experience where the audience becomes part of the show!

This group was originally created by comedians and friends Joe Carney and Rich McDonald; the DKITB name has come to represent comedy at its finest. You may have seen one of the Dumb Kids on MTV’s Silent Library, ABC’s Live with Regis and Kelly, Investigation Discovery’s Stalked, various films, and numerous stage productions. Their comedy experience includes performing at Broadway Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club, the Stress Factory, and Pips at Sheephead’s Bay.
