Together North Jersey Wants Public Input

Together North Jersey has just launched an interactive websitewhere residents can voice their ideas to enhance the future of communities in the northern region of New Jersey.

By 2040, the population of the northern region of New Jersey is expected to expand by 1 million residents along with the addition of 800,000 jobs, according to Together North Jersey.

Using fund’s provided by a Sustainable Community Regional Planning Grant, the sites goal is to improve communities and their economies with better access to transportation, housing, jobs, and educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities by asking the question, “where should North Jersey grow in the next 30 years?”

The picture is from somewhere around Woodbridge, Connecticut (far too "green" to have been taken around the one in New Jersey).

You've evidently never driven Route 80 West of Parsippany en route to the Great Meadows area, Jenny Jump State Forest or the Appalachian Trail (yes, part of it is in NJ). There are stretches in northwest NJ every bit this verdant. Get off your computer and go for a hike!

3 sec google search: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilbur_Cross_Parkway I don't usually get involved in other people's disagreements, but in Patch's heyday, Michael Lewis could command respect around here, and I miss the good old days.

@Jay...Sincere apologies as no snark was intended toward Northern New Jersey, "Together New Jersey" or even Woodbridge, New Jersey towards which I am profoundly neutral. Maybe JUST a little toward Patch, which could not even come up with a illustrating picture of verdant green INSIDE New Jersey...even I could manage that if I tried. As for hiking...sigh...do far too much of it with my hound as it is to actually do it for recreation.

Here's a thought. Lets get the Lackawanna Cutoff up and running at least to Andover N.J. as the residents there are looking for another way to get to New York other than the clogged Rt. 80. Lets gently move the birds and frogs off the ROW and start running a passenger line that would benefit everyone in North Jersey.
