[PHOTO] Girl Scouts Hold Annual Powder Puff Derby

Daisy Girl Scout Isabella Scipioni was the overall winner.

The Clark, Garwood and Winfield Girl Scouts held their very own Powder Puff Derby at the Clark Recreational Facility.  

All the girls who spent countless hours creating their very own wooden cars with their parents were excited to finally race. The first race consisted of Daisy Girl Scouts. The winners were: first place Isabella Scipioni, in second place Julia Kleczynski and coming in third was Kady Rettino.

The next race was for the Brownie Girl Scouts. The winners were: first place Madelaine Edmondson, second place Katrina Kowalenko and coming in third Ashley Breien.

The third race was for the Junior Girl Scouts. The winners were: first place Gabriella Scipioni, in second place Kaitlyn Monohan and in third place Darby Brown.

The final race was for the Cadet Girl Scouts. The winners were: first place, Kaitlyn King, second place Kaylee Parkhill and in third Jessica Moore.

After each division raced, the first place winners raced again to see whose car was the fastest. The winner of that race was Daisy Girl Scout Isabella Scipioni.

Besides awards for fastest times, the girls also received prizes for the following categories: Best Scout Decorated Car-Kady Rettino, Most Creative Car-Julia Klecyznski, Coolest Design-Kaeley Yurchak, Best Named Car-Ginger Juzefyk with "Ginger ALA Mode," Heavy Metal Car-Katrina Kowalenko, Prettiest Car-Jordan Loria, Most Colorful Car-Brownie Christal Reyes, Best Character Car-Erin Hak with "Perry the Platypus," Best Girl Scout Themed Car-Sydne Freidman and Sparkliest Car-Daniella Pacella. The "Flat Tire" award for the slowest car in the entire race went to Sarina Incorvaia.  

Special thanks were made to the Scipioni, Moore, Kaminskas and Skwirut families for helping to organize and assist with the derby. Many of the girl scouts already stated "We can't wait to race again next year!"
