Clark Residents Say 'Thank You' to Ameren Electric Line Crew With a Meal

The crew, which came all the way from Illinois, was treated to some Clark hospitality.

An Ameren electric line utility crew from Illinois enjoyed a lighter moment and a warm home-cooked meal provided by residents of the Skyline, Hilltop, Ridge and Kennedy Drive area after restoring power on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

The Ameren electric line crew were part of a contingent of 667 personnel and 200 vehicles dispatched by Ameren to New Jersey to assist in the Hurricane ("Superstorm") Sandy aftermath and electric power restoration efforts.

The monumental task faced by the mutual aid utility crews was illustrated by the fact that it took this line crew two days to replace three utility poles and associated electrical distribution hardware on Skyline Drive where the electric utility poles were splintered by falling oak trees brought down during the height of the storm.
