A potent winter storm will hit Union County after midnight tonight and continue until early Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service in New York at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The storm will bring as much as 10-14 inches of heavy snow, and bring some sleet.

Driving will be treacherous. There is a risk of power outages as heavy, wet snow accumulates on tree branches. Weak flat roofs may even collapse, the weather service says.
