As Temps Rise, Clark Pool Becomes Cooler than Ever

The recent swelter has brought larger than usual numbers to the community pool.

With the looming threat of thunderstorms, it's unlikely we'll see lots of people clamoring for a swim at Clark Community Pool on this Tuesday evening. But that hasn't been the case during the recent heat wave.

Clark Recreation Director Ralph Bernardo tells Patch the Clark Pool had a record number of members and guests in attendance last weekend. He says the pool staff was kept hopping.

"'Terri Rodrigues, working the camera, said, 'We couldn’t keep up with all the new members signing up,' he reports.

Bernardo attributes the high turnout to either the sudden spate of blistering sun and 90-degree temperatures or to a fewer number of people going down the shore.

The Clark Pool, at 201 Oak Ridge Road,  is now open for summer Monday through Friday from 12:30-8:30 p.m. and from 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
