Dogs of all ages, colors, shapes and sizes are invited to bring their owners and meet other dogs at the American Cancer Society’s inaugural Bark for Life of Metro NJ on Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Oak Ridge Park, Clark NJ. Take a stroll around Oak Ridge Park’s West Loop and enjoy the celebration of our four-legged loved ones. Together, we’ll celebrate canine caregivers (companion, guide, diagnostic, rescue, police, therapy, and service dogs among others) because they help us through our darkest hours showing us unconditional love and security without judgment.
Bark for Life is a non-competitive walk-a-thon and festival for dogs and their families. The money raised by the participants at “Bark” helps the American Cancer Society save lives and create a world with more birthdays by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back. We invite you to join us and support our 1st annual Bark For Life in Metro NJ.
Rain or Shine, the walk begins at 11am, registration opens at 10am. Various paw-friendly activities and contests are scheduled until 2 p.m., including Hillside Police department’s K9 unit tracking and sniffing demonstrations and vendors will be on site. Dogs who get tired or thirsty from all the exciting and fun activities can visit our Canine Café for a light refreshment. Participants are welcome to remain after the event to enjoy the beauty of Oak Ridge Park.
Online registration is open to those who are interested. Cost is $20.00 pre-event and includes a doggie gift. First 100 dog owners at the walk receive a free Relay For Life T-shirt. Register on-line at www.RelayForLife.org/BarkMetroNJ. Day-of registration is $30 and will take place on-site at the Registration tent.
