DESCRIPTION:From May 10 - 31\, 2012\, the public is invited to view the w
 inning works from the &ldquo\;Union County College 2012 Student Art Comp
 etition.&rdquo\;&nbsp\; The exhibit will be on display in the Tomasulo G
 allery\, located in the MacKay Library on the College&rsquo\;s Cranford 
 campus.&nbsp\; The annual Student Art Competition is sponsored by the Un
 ion County College Art Society\, a Student Government supported extracur
 ricular organization\, and the English/Fine Arts/Modern Languages Depart
 ment.&nbsp\; Union County College Senior Professors George Hildrew and A
 nthony Nicoli serve as the club&rsquo\;s advisers.\nAt the end of each a
 cademic year\, students at the College are invited to submit art works t
 hat they created throughout the year to be judged by a trained outside a
 rt professional.&nbsp\; Subsequent to judge review\, prizes for creative
  excellence are awarded in the following categories: Best Work Submitted
  and First\, Second\, Third\, Fourth and Honorable Mention in the catego
 ries of painting\, drawing\, illustration/design\, and photography.\nThi
 s year the art competition was judged by Ms. Dawn Delicat\, who is the M
 anager of the Pen and Brush\, Inc.\, an international arts organization 
 located in New York City since 1894.&nbsp\; The judging of the event was
  held on Friday\, April 27\, 2012.\nAn Artists&rsquo\; Reception for the
  exhibit will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday\, May 10\, 2012\, in the
  gallery.&nbsp\; The students participating in the show are: from Elizab
 eth &ndash\; Selina Akther\, Diana Lopes-Tuohy\, Erick Ogada\, and Karel
  D. Perez\; from Union &ndash\; Karolina Chmielowiec\, Noelle Stewart\, 
 and Melisa Vallovera\; Nielisson Mendoca Da Silva (Brazil)\; Edward Karm
 in (Westfield)\; from Cranford &ndash\; Jocob Kovolisky and Nicole Sever
 ini\; Vincent Liguori (Plainfield)\; Tiffany Maldonado (Newark)\; Elena 
 Medina (Brooklyn\, NY)\; Jordon Mound (Hillside)\; and from Linden &ndas
 h\; Nicole Ortiz and Sean Williams.\nThe Tomasulo Gallery is located on 
 the first floor of the Kenneth C. MacKay Library on the College&rsquo\;s
  Cranford campus\, located at 1033 Springfield Avenue.&nbsp\; Gallery ho
 urs are 1-4 p.m. Monday &ndash\; Thursday\, 10 a.m. &ndash\; 1 p.m. on S
