The Blotter: Garwood Police Arrest Clark, Cranford Men for Possession of Needles
The following arrest information was provided by the Garwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Garwood Police activity from April 26 through May 12, 2012:
April 26, 10:22 p.m. – Officers arrested Cornell Jackson Jr., 20, from Elizabeth; Lakrisha A. Burnett, 18, from Newark; and Ashley S. Ramsey, 21, Elizabeth, while investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the North Avenue Plaza. Jackson and Burnett were charged with possession of alcoholic beverage under the legal age and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. Ramsey was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle. All suspects were released with pending court dates.
May 3, 4:39 p.m. – Officers arrested Anthony Mark Jr., 27 from Cranford and Ian A. O'Keefe, 23, from Clark, while investigating a report of two suspicious people walking in the 400 block of Fourth Avenue carrying drugs and hypodermic needles. They were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a pending court date.
May 5, 12:18 a.m. – Officers arrested Steven Erlich, 27, from Westfield after investigating a report of an unconscious male lying on the front lawn of a residence in the 600 block of Willow Avenue. Erlich was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS). Erlich was released with a pending court date.
May 12, 7:32 p.m. – Officers arrested Jason Smith, 32, from Garwood, while investigating a suspicious person in the 100 block of South Avenue yelling and hitting himself in the head. Smith was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released with a pending court date.
