Joseph J. Galfy, Jr., age 73, died on May 13, 2013 at his home in Clark. He was born in Newark and had lived in Hillside and Irvington before moving to Clark fifteen years ago.

Mr. Galfy received his Bachelor's Degree and his JD from Seton Hall. He was a partner with Kochanski, Baron and Galfy, PC in Rahway.

He served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1970 as a Major, 24th Inf. Div. JAGC.

Mr. Galfy served as the Attorney for the Planning Board in Green Brook. He loved traveling, the New York Giants and music and played in a wedding band for over 25 years. Most of all, he was a devoted brother, uncle and friend.
He is predeceased by his sister, Marcella Galfy.

Surviving are his brother, James Galfy and his wife, Diane of Warren; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer and her husband, Steve, Suzanne, Elizabeth and her husband, Vinny. He is also survived by his great nephews and niece, Kevin, Caitlin and Colin.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 17th at 9:30 am at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung followed by a 10:30 am Mass of Resurrection at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
