PHOTOS: Memorial Day in Garwood

The annual celebration featured guest speaker Dennis Clark, a Vietnam War veteran.

The Garwood Celebrations Committee presented the borough's annual Memorial Day Service on May 28 at the Knights of Columbus.

Mayor Pat Quattrocchi was on hand to read about the Gold Star Mothers who have sent their children into war. Councilwoman Sara Todisco read a prayer for the soldiers that were lost.

Dennis Clark, a veteran of the Vietnam War and the day's guest speaker, spoke about war and freedom. Then, Eric Sinnicke was honored as the essay contest winner. Sinnicke read his essay about the meaning behind "liberty and justice for all" as stated in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Celebrations Committee member Tom Englese thanked everyone for coming out for a day of rememberence.
