The Garwood Democratic Committee is proud to announce that William Nierstedt and Ann Palmer are their Democratic candidates for council in 2012. Ann will take the place of Michael Wilson who stepped down after the primary election for personal reasons.
Bill and Ann have a positive vision for the future of Garwood because they combine a fresh perspective with their knowledge of the town. They will be open, and honest, and will work with residents and fellow council members on any issue that is of concern. They believe in fiscal responsibility while enhancing and maintaining the current level of services for Garwood. The candidates understand how important it is to keep the lines of communication open with residents, and will really listen to concerns, and work to find solutions. Bill and Ann pledge to work as a team with all agencies, departments, and committees to evaluate and improve the services within Garwood. They want to bring stability and professionalism back to Garwood’s government.
As Garwood pursues new development projects, they want to maintain Garwood’s small town charm. Their objectivity is needed to balance development with our small town atmosphere while increasing our ratable tax base which will benefit all of the residents. Bill and Ann are not only looking to the future, but are focused on current issues facing Garwood.
Their motto of “Accomplished Past – Prepared for the Future” is more than just a motto; it is their promise to residents that they will do their best to promote and follow through with progress in Garwood. Bill and Ann have experience and leadership which was gained through many years of serving on various committees, boards and organizations in town. Bill served on the Planning Board, Board of Education, and the Education Foundation of Garwood and Ann served on the Board of Education for seven years, two years as president, and is a former member of the Garwood PTA and the Education Foundation of Garwood. Because of their ingenuity and creativity, they are able to look for ways to make life in our Borough better for all residents. Their commitment and dedication to Garwood is ongoing and with your support they will keep Garwood as an outstanding place to live, work and play.
