Now bagging in lane 7, Garwood's mayor and fire chief?
Indeed, Mayor Patricia Quattrocchi and Police Chief Bruce Underhill will join other Union County officials in honor of September's National Hunger Action Month by serving as honorary grocery baggers at the Garwood ShopRite, tomorrow, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. In exchange for their hard bagging work, they will be accepting monetary donations to help fill shelves of community food banks.
Mayor Quattrocchi and Chief Underhill will be joined by Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr, Westfield Fire Chief Dan Kelly and Union County Police Chief Daniel Vaniska.
Governors across six states including New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland have issued proclamations declaring Sept. 21st as "ShopRite Partners In Caring Day." To recognize this special day, dignitaries from all six states will "help bag hunger" at their local ShopRite store to raise awareness and funds for food banks in their community.
